This song, along with a cutscene (as is the case with all Final Fantasy games), features Yuna (FFX) as a pop star!! Go, Yuna!
This game highlights the adventure that Yuna, Rikku and a new friend, Paine, go through in order to travel the world, conquer the massively huge evil (wasn't Yu Yevon enough?!) that is working behind the scenes to destroy lives, and find Yuna's lost love from FFX; Tidus.
In the meantime, there are side quests to do, items to find, things to kill, etc. A beautiful landscape, much laughter, and a plot twist here and there make the game fun... along with that dress sphere.
A what?
Imagine a blend between materia (FF7), the sphere grid (FFX), and job classes (FF5) and you get: dress spheres. Some of the outfits are indigenous to one character, but most are usable among all of the characters. This can make for very fun combinations. If you go in all the directions of the dress sphere, you can change into your ultimate outfit: a guaranteed butt-kicker. What fun!
Now for that opinion of mine....
The game is just fun. It was geared toward girls and it shows. You never feel more like Sailor Moon than you do while playing this game. That being said, it's a fun game.
It's very non-linear; there are too many side quests to keep that from happening. For many people, there are, in fact, too many. They keep me entertained.
The characters in the game, the soundtracks, the colors, the sounds. Excellent. Maybe a little too excellent. In more than a few instances, the PS2 couldn't keep up with the display and slowed down as a result. It wasn't horrible or even mildly irritating, but when Soul Caliber 2 and 3 can't accomplish that feat and X-2 does, you start wondering. Again, maybe it's because of the Sailor Moon (or Pretear) style transformation sequences.
Finally, did I mention there is a GAME PLUS FEATURE!
That's right! If you finish the game, you can start with the dress sphere from previous games. This is possibly a return (or even tribute) to Chrono Cross (which also had a Game Plus feature).
In a nutshell, a lovable game. There are many things that I didn't say, but what fun would a review be if I told you everything?
