This is a continuation of the Dark Alliance series for PS2. First off, this game was incredibly hard for me to find. When I did find it, the cheapest I could find it for was used for $40. That didn't sit well with me. The game has been out for 4 years now. It should have been cheaper. So I didn't buy it that time. I tried to Ebay it.....nothing. Amazon.com.......nothing. I finally found the game for $25 at Blockbuster and snagged it. To date, they have not recieved another copy......yay me.

Now let's talk about the game.

It brings a few more character classes into play. There is an elven monk, a dwarven rogue(thief), and now also a Necromancer.

So far I've only played through with the Dwarven Rogue, but there are quite a few things that have changed. The graphics engine is much crisper than DA1. The monsters look amazing. Also the kinds of weapons you can have, the enhancement system, and dual wield capabilities make this game a greatly addictive one to play.

At the end of the first game, you are supposed to kill Eldrith, an evil sorcerress who has taken over lots of monsters and sent them into Baldur's Gate. In the beginning of game 2, you play characters who are coming to kill Eldrith, only to discover that not only is she dead, but her tower that was supposed to be destroyed with her death is being rebuilt by someone even more evil than she was. Your mission changes depending upon which character you choose. Some characters (the dwarven rogue, and the dark elf sorcerress) can get buffs in the Tavern when they talk to their character buddies that hang out there. I'm not done yet, but I'm already level 21. When I finished game 1, I was like level 12. Lots more enemies to fight, deeper customization, I love it.

Sounds great! Is there a "game plus" feature?

"Unlockable: Play as Drizzt and Artemis
To unlock Drizzt, beat the game on any difficulty. To unlock Artemis the Human, complete the game on Extreme Difficulty and start a new game. Move the cursor to Alessia Faithhammer and then press DOWN once for Drizzt and DOWN, DOWN for Artemis."

If this is your idea of a "game plus" then here you go. I can't wait to play as Drizzt. In the first game, he was the only character that would dual wield weapons. It will be nice to have a ranger to add in to the mix in this game.

Fri Sep 07, 2007 4:01 pm   Dark Alliance 2: It is accomplished!!!!!

So it took me a whle to repost anything (ran into some snags on the game, i.e. not saving properly, dying alot at the the end, stuff like that) but I finished the game.

If you watch the opening movie, the main bad guy says his name, but it took so long to get to him, I forgot his name.

Your main opposition in this game is:
The Red Fang Marauders
Goblins of any kind
A little pi**ant named Xanhast
And the biggest dork of them all: Mordoc SeLanmere.

Mordoc is the head honcho, a vampire, who was waiting for Eldrith to die in the first game so he could take over her spot as most powerful evil person in the Baldur's Gate universe. Most of the boss battles aren't too bad, but as you progress further into the game, you had better be packing potions and your best armor and weapons.

The cool thing about this whole game is the fact that you pick up gems. As you increase your stats, you can make it chepaer to make and add gems to your weapons and armor. This comes in way handy later in the game.

After you finish off aformentioned Mordoc, there is a nice open ended ending thats lets you know there will be game 3. I can't wait for it, but I've already started a new game with the Dark Elf monk. Not having to use weapons is great.

So, what is your fullest review of the game? By that I mean the visual and audio aspects as well as things like the plot and such?
