The Rules

I have a few rules. I will try not to be too harsh as the site admin, however not having rules in place often leads to abuse. As such, please read these before you post anywhere. I WILL HOLD EACH REGISTERED MEMBER OF THIS SITE RESPONSIBLE FOR READING THESE RULES AT LEAST ONCE.

That being said, let's talk about a few things.

About me
I am your site admin (nice to make your acquaintance). There are more than a few things you can find out about me by reading my intro thread. As you could imagine, I have certain "biases" toward decency and respect and that will be reflected in all of the following rules.

About posting
Let's get all of the preliminary things out of the way here:

No double-posting. Please edit your posts instead. If I see a double post, then I will simply edit it and send a PM alerting you to not repeat that action. If I notice this as a pattern of behavior, I will have to hand you warning which will snowball to a ban. Please Don't go there.
Spam in the spam area only. That's right. If you are a spammer, I really did think of you while making this site. The only thing I ask is that you spam only in the spam area. It was renamed "The Couch". It's relatively easy to find. If you spam in a non-spam area, I PM you on the first three (maximum) offenses which of course will lead to warnings and/or bans.
No bashing. Of any kind. Not about gender, not about religion. We can all agree to disagree about some things, but if I see anything I consider to be rude, I will simply remove the offending post and send you a PM with the text I removed and why I removed it. If you must hash it out with another person, pick and instant messenger of choice and take it there. Do not have arguments in the forum area. I want a warm, friendly community, not a hockey game.
Multiple languages are okay as long as they are translated on request into a language that can be understood. Boards in other languages will have their own designated spaces. Otherwise, please post in ENGLISH in the general board areas.. If I find non-english posts in a place that I have not clearly specified as a multi-lingual board area, I will remove your post. This may or may not receive a PM.
Absolutely no porn. No porn of any description will be allowed and any violation of this rule will receive an automatic and permanent ban. There is a zero-tolerance rule for this kind of behavior.
No swearing. I'm sure we will have people of all ages coming to this forum. Therefore, with that in mind, I do not want to see any cursing or other vulgar speech on these boards anywhere in any language. Any violations of this rule will receive an automatic warning. Severe or repeated violations will receive a ban.
Do not post personal disagreements. I mentioned this in an earlier rule, but let's review. No name-calling. No backbiting. No gossip. None of that on this board in any language or anywhere. If you have a disagreement, talk to the person, via PM, in a civil manner and resolve the issue. If mediators are needed, then please find one or PM me with the situation. If you ask me to be a mediator, my decisions are final. If the situation escalates after that, two warnings will be received and/or a ban. I don't want to be mean, but I refuse to entertain barfights. When the shoutbox mod is added (which is a possibility), these rules will also apply to it.
As per the newest policy change, please discuss all matters pertaining to announcements I have made in "The Cafe". This will help me greatly. For more information, check the "A small regulation change" thread.
Forum signature banners are to be no bigger than 400 x 200 pixels. Avatars are to be no bigger than 100x100 pixels. Offending avatars or sig bars will be removed without notice.

These rules are a work in progress. As you could imagine, they will be updated as I see the need to from time to time.

Well, now that you have been introduced to the forum and to myself, why don't you introduce yourself, too.
